Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted online.

The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
