Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Life
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.
My son told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have have lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
