Liverpool's Star Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Salah apologised to the team following the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have remained strong in the matches since the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
