Three In Contention for Young Sports Star Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.
The event will be aired from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being nominated for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
