The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The renowned video game developer lost his life when his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a motorway in LA on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
